Review - Bellpark Hostel
If you have ever daydreamed about going to Switzerland - stepping off the train, walking outside, and immediately being in awe of the unfathomable beauty of the Swiss Alps - Lucerne is the place for you. Zurich is a charming city with bustling streets and great nightlife, but Lucerne is absolutely breath taking. When you walk out of central station, you immediately stumble upon Lake Lucerne. The Swiss Alps fully surround the city and it's hands down the most incredible sight I've ever seen in my life.
But, we eventually had to pick our jaws up off the ground and hop on the bus to Bellpark Hostel. The bus system was extremely easy to figure out and Bellpark even provides free bus tickets for the course of your stay! From the bus stop, it is only a two block walk to th hostel. Bellpark Hostel has certain reception hours, but they provide huge luggage lockers in case you arrive early which we were so happy to see! We dropped off our bags and explored the city until we were able to check in.
The first floor of the hostel has a giant common area with couches, a few computers, huge tables to eat at, a fully stocked kitchen, and a game room with board games and a foosball table. We cooked dinner every night and ate in the common area. The hostel also provides a free breakfast of egg fried rice which may seem unconventional, but by the end of our stay we woke up craving it!
We stayed in a four person dorm, but had it to ourselves the whole stay. It was clean and comfortable and had it's own private bathroom. The lockers were large enough to easily fit all of our belongings. We also utilized the laundry services. We were able to wash all of our clothes for just a few euros.
We really enjoyed the homey atmoshpere at Bellpark Hostel and would definitely stay here again!
