Travel Blogs We <3
Planning a long-term trip is as completely overwhelming as it is exciting. My go-to strategy is to pin pretty pictures on Pinterest while not really doing any hard-core research. Brooke, on the other hand, tries to read every single article that gives advice on traveling Europe, down to what socks are best for Europe in the winter. And after she facebook messages me about a million articles, I cave and read a few. And I have to admit, they are pretty useful. Here are a few of our favorites:
1. The Savvy Backpacker
This blog is written by a husband a wife who have traveled all over Europe, and their mission is to help other people plan budget-travel trips. Their content is more focused on the planning of the trip than the actual destinations. And, their information is so helpful! We have read their advice on which backpack to buy, train travel, and prices/daily budgets for many different cities.
2. The Blonde Abroad
This blog is written by a California native who quit her career in corporate finance to travel the world - a story we've heard hundreds of times, right? Yes, but her blog offers advice unique to almost any trip you are planning. From budget to luxury to volunteer, she covers it all. One of my personal favorite sections on her blog is the "female travel" section. She offers insight on how to stay in-shape while traveling, the best beauty products for traveling, and even things as trivial as how to highlight your hair on-the-go! This blog is so extensive and covers so many aspects of traveling, including destination guides. Definitely worth checking out before your next big trip.
3. A Broken Backpack
Another favorite of mine, A Broken Backpack is written by a girl from Quebec who is a backpacker managing to live and travel with loads of debt - how relatable! I love so many sections of her site. She has the typical 'destinations' tab which is super useful. But what I really love about her site are the 'Be a Blogger' and 'Be a Nomad' tabs. Now, I admire the life of digital nomads but that is not what I am after. The blogging section, though, offers great advice for bloggers to increase traffic and visibility. There are so many people with blogs it can be hard to set yours apart, and she is willing to share her tips and tricks with fellow bloggers! I read so many of her articles in this section and find them really helpful. If you have a travel blog, or any blog, you should check out her posts.
4. Hippie in Heels
This is another blog that I find super relatable. Rachel quit her job to live abroad and has been doing so for three years now. Her travel advice is super awesome, but my favorite part of her blog is the International Designers tab. SHe describes her style as boho-chic and she highlights designers that she discovers around the world that match her style. She also does a bunch of giveaways! I love this section as I am obsessed with fashion and try to infuse my personal style with a little flare from all of the cities I visit.
Whether you are looking for beginner travel advice, inspiration, or something more specific, there is a blog out there for you. These are just a few of the many blogs we read, and we love discovering new ones all the time! Let us know some of your faves...
